Terms of Service
Plain English, because you should be able to read this without a lawyer.

Who you are agreeing with
Exalted is operated by Tyler Helton (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
What Exalted does
Exalted gives you a link to send to your clients. They write a testimonial, you approve the ones you want, and the approved ones can be shown on your website through our widget. Collecting approved testimonials moves your account up a reputation tier.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over and able to enter a contract.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself.
- One account per business. Tell us if you think somebody else has access to yours.
Testimonials: the rules that matter
This is the part worth reading properly, because it is the part that could get you into trouble rather than us.
- Every testimonial must be real. It must be written by an actual client about work you actually did. Writing your own, paying for them, or inventing them is not allowed here and, in the United States, is a matter the FTC has authority over.
- You must have your client’s permission to publish what they wrote and the name they gave. Our submission page tells them their words may be published; you are the one who decides to publish.
- Do not edit a testimonial into something it was not. Hiding one is fine. Rewriting one to say something the client did not say is not.
- Do not offer payment in exchange for a positive review. Asking is fine. Buying is not.
- Nothing unlawful, hateful, or that infringes somebody else’s rights.
We can remove content or close an account that breaks these rules. We would rather tell you first, and normally will.
Photos
A client may attach a photo of themselves to a testimonial. It behaves like the rest of the testimonial: it stays private until you approve it, and nothing appears on your website before then.
A photo must be of the person writing the testimonial, or something they hold the rights to. Photos of other people, of anything unlawful, or of anything sexual are not allowed. You can delete a photo from your dashboard at any time without discarding the testimonial itself.
If something is uploaded that should not have been, delete it and tell us at hello@getexalted.com. We remove unlawful material on becoming aware of it, and where the law requires us to report it, we do.
Who owns what
The testimonials are not ours. They belong to the people who wrote them and, as far as publishing them goes, to you. You give us permission to store them and to serve the approved ones through the widget, because that is the service. We do not use them to advertise Exalted without asking you first.
Exalted’s own software, design and name remain ours.
Trials, payment and cancellation
- The free trial is 14 days and does not ask for a card. When it ends, collecting new testimonials stops.
- Plans are billed monthly in advance. Prices are shown before you pay and include no hidden charges.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing page. Canceling stops the next payment; it does not refund the month you are in.
- Refunds: if something on our side did not work, write to us and we will sort it out. We do not generally refund a month you used and were happy with.
- If we change the price, we will tell you by email before it applies to you, and you can cancel instead.
Referrals
If somebody signs up through your referral link and pays for their first month, you both get a month free. Referring yourself, or accounts you control, does not count. We can withhold rewards we believe were obtained that way.
What happens to your testimonials if you stop paying
Testimonials you have already approved keep serving to your website. We do not take them down because a payment lapsed — that would be holding your reputation hostage. What lapsing stops is collecting new ones, and it restores the Exalted link on the widget if you had removed it on the Pro plan.
If you close your account
Ask us and we will delete your account and its testimonials. Once deleted they are gone, including from your website’s widget, so export anything you want to keep first.
What we do not promise
We work hard to keep Exalted running, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable, and we do not promise it will win you business. The service is provided as it is.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. We are not liable for lost profits or lost business.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email you before it takes effect. Carrying on using Exalted afterwards means you accept the new version.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Illinois, United States.
